Every bank, credit and debit card in the world is the same size. It's set by an international standard (ISO/IEC 7810, the ID-1 format), so a card from any bank fits any wallet, card machine and cash point — and any card skin or sticker cut to the standard size.

Why cards are this exact size
The ID-1 format dates back to the 1980s, when banks, card networks and equipment makers agreed a single spec so that any card would work in any machine anywhere. The 0.76 mm thickness matters as much as the width and height — it's what lets a card slide into a reader and sit correctly against the chip contacts.

Does a metal card have different dimensions?
No — metal cards (Revolut Metal, Amex Platinum, Monzo's metal card) are the same 85.6 × 54 mm footprint. They're heavier and slightly stiffer, but they're built to the same ID-1 standard so they still work in every terminal.
Why do bank cards have a notch or cut-out?
Some cards have a small notch on one edge. It's an accessibility feature — it tells a visually impaired user which way round the card goes into a reader by touch. It doesn't affect the overall dimensions.
What about card skins and stickers?
Because every card is the same size, a card skin or sticker only has to be made once. Ours are die-cut to the full 85.6 × 54 mm ID-1 size with cut-outs for the chip and the contactless symbol, so the card still taps and inserts normally. The vinyl is about 0.1 mm thick — thin enough that the card keeps working in every machine — and peels off cleanly with no residue.
